Our proposed community design centers the homes and amenities around a main village, with a five-minute walk or bike ride to nearby neighborhoods. The village includes the services and retail needed for everyday living, minimizing the need for car trips within and out of the community. Multiple community spaces foster social interaction, neighborhood gatherings and community engagement.
Pick up a prescription at the pharmacy after childcare dropoff. Enjoy the farmers market on a lunch break. Meet a friend after work for a glass of local wine or craft brew, or bike ride as a family to dinner. Enjoy a summer concert at the community center or have a playdate at the nearby playground. Work out at one of the pools or fitness center or take a hike along miles of scenic trails.
If approved by Santa Barbara County, Solomon Hills will be a “Carbon-neutral” Residential Community by 2040. This means the total carbon emissions produced by the residential community are balanced by the amount of carbon removed or offset through various renewable energy uses, smart technologies, resource conservation strategies, and sustainable building materials and practices.
We will carefully close down wells and remove all oil-related infrastructure in the project area so residential and commercial redevelopment can safely occur in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Like many communities in California that have been safely built on land previously used for industrial purposes, all homes will be built on land without active oil wells with a buffer between the wells and the new community.
